Each book goes "Where no man has gone before" farther and farther out into the universe and the ride is not without a few bumps.This book pushe. Chris said Good read, but slipping a bit.. As other reviewers have said, this is really a transitional novel at its core. I see it now, after finishing the last few pages, but while I was actually reading, I kept hoping that around the next bend some mystery and awe might show up. It never really did. A few p. I would give this 1 star if it wasn't part of a bigger picture. Characters are uninteresting and most are infuriatingly unrelatable. The main antagonist is a flat out psycopath that doesn't really seem to have a self-serving agenda. Unlike in abbaddon's gate this characters is cold and calculated but his agenda isn't self serving
