A wonderful fairy tale like story I pre-purchased this book quite awhile back and sort of forgot about it until it appeared (like a gift) on my Kindle a few mornings ago. Well, of course, I started it immediately. Since I had no clue as to what it was about (the pre-buy contained no synopsis) I didn't know what to expect - which is actually the way a good book should be read, so I won't give any details about the story. I quickly discover. One for the heart Koontz has done it again. A really moving, heartfelt story about the human condition with beautiful imagery and profound statements about "being". I highlighted so many passages in the book, that it looks like a yellow font. A mysterious beginning, wondering just what it is that is different about Addison Goodheart - he constantly mentions that he is different but does not find out why until much later in. Elizabeth Baker said Philosophy, Mystery, or Horrror?. I purchased an advance copy of Innocence because I understood the novel was based on character development, not Koontz famous skill for invoking terror. Perhaps character development could be a fraction of the plot, but the philosophical and religious aspects of the book overshadow this and several graphic and horrifying scenes remain intact.Innocence is beautifully written and, for me, this was the only
