DESCRIPTION:
MusicalFamily said Great value for the developing student. My students love this book and the original compositions that are reminiscent of the golden era of Jazz and Blues. I surprisingly have many requests to play the songs in these books as I have used them as recital pieces for students in the past. All the pieces have great value in using the method taught in Alfred's Basic Pian. Enjoying Some of the Pieces This is a nice little book of beginner pieces. I have really enjoyed some of the pieces and liked others quite a bit less; I guess that is to be expected in any collection. My one complaint is that, to me, quite a few of the pieces sound very similar, and now that I am about halfway through the book I am getting rather tired . Great Book for students interested in Jazz Josey Great book! Depending on the pianist, this book would be suitable for a student that is in the level 3A and higher Faber and Faber piano series. The pieces are great and varied, mostly all the same level.
Jazz, Rags & Blues, Books 1 through 5 contain original solos for late elementary to early advanced-level pianists that reflect the various styles of the jazz idiom. The CD includes dynamic recordings of each song in the book.. An excellent way to introduce your students to this distinctive American contribution to 20th century music
