Her profile captured my imagination and caused me to want to learn more about her, her remarkable interesting life and the foundation that was started to honor her late husband, David.I was not disappointed. In an effort to raise awareness about the plight of the wild animals in Kenya, especially the elephants, the Dame writes about her and David's experiences while he was Game Warden in the south of Kenya in the 50's and 60's, and ri. A great love story This memoir about Dame Daphne Sheldrick's life is wonderful. The things David Sheldrick taught her about wildlife helped her create the elephant sanctuary for orphan elephants. Her dedication to discovering the right milk formula helped baby elephants survive past 3-6 months and on into adulthood. I loved the story of her life and her children's dedication to the Sheldrick Trust.
