C. Cresta said Well written & great detailed explanations. I've taken this book to my monotype class & the teacher, who is an accomplished long-time artist in Houston, says it's a wonderful book he even intends to buy. It explains several printmaking techniques in detail with lots of lovely colour photos, it's written as if the author is talking to you & gives so much advise & tips on all sorts from collagraphs, mono-printing to polyester plate lithography & more. It's a great reference book, is well written & a good read even for a total beginner to printing.. Useful introductory reference Excellent general introduction to modern printmaking. Even the experienced printmaker will find ideas here. Because of the broad coverage, there is not the depth in some discussions, but still a good jumping off place. It does, however, not include full information about non-oil based inks, which limits usefulness of some techniques in the contemporary studio without solvents or oil based inks.. GREAT BOOK GREAT book. I think it's very well written. It exceeded my expectations.
