With William Spencer's approval, Frederick Mueller took on the task of bringing to notice recent changes in bassoon playing, pedagogy, and manufacture, resulting in revised edition of The Art of Bassoon Playing.. William Spencer took up the challenge of providing material for the serious bassoonist with The Art of Bassoon Playing, published in 1958. Fine bassoon teachers are a rarity in all but cities with major symphony orchestras and/or a university with a distinguished music department faculty
Helpful and illuminating. isecond This book is written for the narrow audience that includes me (mother of an aspiring bassoon player) and, most likely, you who are reading this review, of non-bassoonists teaching or trying to help aspiring bassoonists. Proving that you can find absolutely everything online, the book. Roald Wilson said Five Stars. Great read for when insightful prose serves better an exercise book.. A Customer said Had very good information in it.. The book had a very nice dicription of the bassoon. The different kinds and about taking care of it and your reeds. The only problem I had with it is that the fingering chart was confusing. Overall I think it was good.
