I really like protagonists Puller, Decker, and Robie, but Im not sure I really like this offering in the Amos Decker series. Baldacci always writes a book that instantly grabs you and then you pretty much hold on for dear life for the rest of the story. This one grabs you but then makes you loosen your grip when the dialog goes on and on and on with much of the same information being repeated over and over again. There are the usual

But they learn that the DIA believes solving the murder is now a matter of urgent national security. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter--a family man with a successful consulting business--and his victim, a schoolteacher. Enter Harper Brown. Forced into an uneasy alliance with Agent Brown, Decker remains laser focused on only one goal: solving the case before it's too late.. The murder is part of an open DIA investigation, one so classified that Decker and his team aren't cleared for it. Baldacci always writes a book that instantly grabs you and then you pretty much hold on for dear life for the rest of the story. This one grabs you but then makes you loosen your grip when the dialog goes on and on and on with much of the same information being repeated over and over again. There are the usual crew of agents, some fleshed out a bit, some left behind and DIA Agent Brown adds some interest and life to . A GREAT AND UNUSUAL MYSTERY I have loved the Amos Decker mysteries from the first, so couldn't wait for the next in line. This is unusual in that the murder occurs at the beginning of the story in full view of everyone on the street including Decker, who was just behind the shooter. Yet, the shooter commits suicide and now the mystery is WHY? Why did he kill the woman; who is she; why did he kill himself. Baldacci is a master at stringing you along and keeping your interest for the whole ride. I really enjoyed this one even more than the first two and highly recommend it.. RARowland, Cincinnati reviewer said Baldacci at his best (again), i.e., another thoroughly delectible read.. What can I say different from what 1000+ other reviewers have said probably better about David Baldacci's latest book? Well how's this? I've read several of his books and each one has had the same effect on me, i.e., each was like eating a chocolate ice cream sundae that I just wanted to keep on eating and eating and eating, never stop.I have to literally tear myself away from a Baldacci book. There is no convenient place to stop. Amen."The Fix" was a tantalizing read from page one to page last. No filler in between. Amos Decker is to David Baldacci as Harr
