Matthew Reilly kills it again I was a little disappointed during the first part of the book by the fact that Jack West Junior was having so much difficulty keeping up with the games but once he started to figure out where he was and what he was supposed to be doing and how he was supposed to be doing it things picked up dramatically. The addition of Scarecrow to the games was paralyzing and made you stop and think through the rest of the book about the fact that the there can be only one winner. Matthew did an excellent job of keeping you on the edge of your seat and the way the story unfolded and completed was brilliant. Now we know what the next adventure is go. I'm so glad this finally came out! Jack is back in a book that may have taken long to come out, but continues the series in a way that brings it to today and has all the characters and actin that we've come to expect. I'm so glad that the final 3 in the series are already being worked on, but to tell the truth, do not want the Jack West series to end. Every book in the series builds upon those before, and in fact, having just finished the Four Legendary Kingdoms, I'm restarting the series just to get my continued fill of these characters. Mr. Reilly, whether writing the Jack West or the Shane Scofield books, knows how to construct a novel that will keep you engaged an. TomB said Jacks Back!. One of my all time favorite characters is back in an all new adventure thats sure to please. JACK West Jr. Has been kidnapped and drafted against his will to participate in a modern day Trials to the Death in order to, what else?, save the world. Action, adventure, cunning traps and deadly mazes, plus more, await Jack and the other challengers in this non-stop roller coaster ride. And what a surprise one of those challengers is indeed! Great fun and an ending that does more than just hint at more action to come. Loved it.
