"I guess I'm more disappointed in my expectations than the actual book/cd" according to Frustrated. I guess I'm more disappointed in my expectations than the actual book/cd. The book is just what I wanted, in-depth explanations and interpretations of Shore's gorgeous music. I loved the behind the scenes DVDs included with the Extended Versions of each LOTR movie, particularly when Shore's music is the subject. You could hear someone on the DVD talk about the music, what it was meant to invoke in a particular scene, and simultaneously hear the music in the background. It's got detailed explanations of thematic s. Great book, dud CD Great depth here, some interesting stories and background - plus a wonderful soundtrack. Unfortunately my CD had all the tracks out of order (!) and one track that wouldn't play. Hopefully mine was a unique failure.I contacted the author but he couldn't do anything about it.
