His son, William J. began running the newly incorporated company and published a series of four pocket-sized souvenir booklets for his many patrons. An eerie skull and crow and even a goat’s head are illustrated. Lemp, took over operations and began building the present-standing brewery over a system of naturally-cooling caves, which also linked by tunnel to the Lemp family mansion. The young playboy led a life of revelry that married him to the "Lavender Lady!" His monogram, with the letter B for "Billy", is stamped on the back of the first souvenir booklet which was given out at the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition! It contained plated illustrations of the company's beer labels and buildings, including those as far away as Los Angeles and San Francisco-before the 1905 Quake-as well as a drawing of the now-haunted Lemp family mansion!
