Tried n True said Very good illustrative samples and techniques. It's not a thick book--I wish it was thicker because this artist's skills is phenomenal, especially his water and water reflection techniques. Each artist have their own expertise and for me, Mr. Dowden's water painting technique takes the prize. This book focuses on his developed methods to painting "water," not so much on equipments or too. Amazon Customer said Water in Watercolour. This is an excellent book for those who want to understand how to paint water. It explains the techniques in a way which is both easy to follow and which makes sense. The problem for most aspiring water-colourists is the sheer volume of choices which have to be made, whether in the selection of paper, brushes, paint or techniques to use. Dow. This pamphlet-not Handbook-is far too expensive I gave this book a MEH3 starswhile the information is helpful, it's not fantastic or anything new.The price is far too much for a pamphlet this size. $2.50 would be fair. Fr what I paid I could have purchased what I thought I was purchasing, an actual book like watercolorist Susan Bourdet's fantastic "Capturing the Magic of Light in Watercol
