Lighthouses visited Ludvig This is an excellent compendium of existing lighthouses in the US and made valuable by photographs and by considerable detail about history of each. In it some human interest information about lighthouse keepers .Especially interesting indescribing designers, e.g. General Meade of Civil War fame, some of the progression of technology and the efforts ofregional groups to preserve lighthouses and their history.. I was very pleased with the book,easy to read,it was well set up.It had lots of information about the lighthouses and it makes it easy for you to visit the lights. After seeing the "move" of the Hatteras lighthouse this summer, we became intrigued by lighthouses. On the trip home, we made special effort to see as many as we could. This book helped us learn more about the lighthouses we were seeing. An excellent book for a short synopsis on these wonderful structures. I'm buying a second copy for my parents.
