Opening Infinite Tuesday is like stepping into the world of Michael Nesmith, where something curious is always unfolding, and where riffs on everything from bands to dogs to the nature of reality make for an endlessly engaging journey.. That search took Nesmith from a childhood in Dallas, where his single mother Bette invented Liquid Paper, to the set of The Monkees in Los Angeles; to the heart of swinging London with John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix; and to an unexpected oasis of brilliance in the Santa Fe desert, where his friendships with Douglas Adams and Los Alamos scientists would point him toward the power of the infinite and the endless possibilities of human connection. Michael Nesmith’s eclectic, electric life spans his star-making role on The Monkees, his invention of the music video, and his critical contributions to movies, comedy, and the world of virtu

It's so hard to believe/accept, that the bald 74 yr old he is now, was once that handsome, cool, young musician he was back then. And, alas, I, a musician as well, am now 61- wow! Mike is an excellent writer, with an amazing vocabulary, and is deeply introspective, though I think in many ways is too hard on himself. What an amazing and full life! My only comments to the negative are, that I wish he'd included some stories of his relationships with his fellow Monkees. I get that this was but a short chapter in a huge life, but so much of the narrative is based on t. Not your standard ranch stash Natalese Michael Nesmith’s latest book captivates by constructing an intriguing tapestry made up of threads unfettered by the traditional framework of autobiographical writing.Infinite Tuesday is a study of human behavior and relational consequences from the point of view of the author. The reader is nimbly guided through a twisting network of “riffs” on celebrity encounters, family dynamics, spirituality, business, science, and the arts without disorienting or alienating. The narrative is not a chronological one, as much as it is an unfolding of revelations ultimately exposing the intricate interlacing of each chapter.Segment

And he riffs on metaphysical topics like ‘non-time moments’ – when portent and symmetry seem to enter our lives – without sounding trippy or losing his relatability. Unsparing and revealing, this book is an unusual, unforgettable read.” —Ben Fong-Torres “Nesmith is witty and ironic and has a fund of amazing and often absurd stories. These countercultural icons understood the genius of its premise – simultaneously celebrating and satirizing popular culture, fabricating a faux-Beatlemania to rival Beatlemania itself – and recognized its brilliant execution.” —Wall Street Journal"This sele
