Many years ago the efficient market theorists made a very strong case that the only way to beat the market was dumb luck or "superior analysis". While there are laws prohibiting trading on "inside information" (ask Martha Stewart about that) what Cohen and his cohorts have proven is that it can be stolen or bought.and once you have it, it works.as long as you're reasonably savvy about the upside or downside impact of that information..
