A. Thomas said It's okay but better if read after the series so you don't reveal surprises. Surprisingly, this is one of the few books of Goodkind that I don't have something horrible to say about. The story is interesting in this book though I would definitely wait to read it until you've read significantly in the series to be familiar with the things that are alluded to. If you read it at the beginning, I think the later books would have lost the few redeeming things that they have going for th. Holly said "Enemies, are the price of honour.". I have come to find out more about Zedd and his past, and how the lands got split into thirds. If you have read the other books I'm sure you will like this one..
