DESCRIPTION:
"You are Destined to like this book!" according to K. W.. This book is nearly flawless in keeping the narration in Dubya-ese. I had found some other writing by Scott Dikkers and fell in love with his style and went looking for other works by him. I had this book in my "save for later" part of my Amazon cart for a long time. I was looking for a gift for my husband and found it in my cart and thought it would be a good "small" gift for him. When he opened it he gave me a weird "what did you get me THIS fo. "A very funny read!" according to Thomas R. Mchenry. It's hard to describe this book in that it is written from the point of view of GWB himself. A lot of chuckles and some laugh-out-loud momentsthe interesting thing is that the "fictional" Bush is oddly co-joined with the real one. This NOT a book for any real Bush fans. The great man we meet here displays his mother's steely resolve and vindictive temper, his father's keen mastery of languag
com, which presents bogus audio clips, press releases and public policy directives in an uncannily official manner. Dikkers, Hilleren and S&S Audio do merit special recognition for innovation in the multimedia format of the bonus fifth disk, which offers iPod-ready MP3 files for easy downloading. From Publishers Weekly The authors maintain the satirical Web site WeeklyRadioAddress. Bush (with Dikkers, editor-in-chief of the Onion, portraying W), the distinguished pair of pranksters manages to serve up consistently entertaining and well-engineered—if not particularly inventive—political humor. Yet, in today's bold new era of "fake journalism" led by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, it somehow fails to deliver a stinging knockout blow against the neo-con orthodoxy of the White House inner sanctum.
