You're not looking for a book review, you already know it's a classic. You already know this is the most original, and one of the best, and best-written horror stories in literature. You may or may not like the story, but that's a matter of personal taste. A lot of people don't like Shakespeare, but no one questions whether he was a good writer or not. If you don't like the writing style, it's because you aren't familiar with the English of this period. Nearly eighty years before Stoker's "Dracula" ( an idea stolen from Polidori's "The Vampyre", which was. Monstrous in all the right ways HH Part of Frankenstein's rejection of his creation is the fact that he does not give it a name, which causes a lack of identity. Instead it is referred to by words such as "monster", "creature", "demon", "devil", "fiend", "wretch", and "it". When Frankenstein converses with the creature in Chapter 10, he addresses it as "vile insect", "abhorred monster", "fiend", "wretched devil", and "abhorred devil". During a telling of Frankenstein, Shelley referred to the creature as "Adam". Shelley was referring to the first man in the Garden of Eden, as in her epigraph:Did I request thee, Maker, from my clayTo [mold] Me man? . love, and family I found this story to be very interestingthe need of the Dr to not only save or maintain life but, to actually create it.to have to study so intensely to achieve this mad yet incredible goal and, then to actually bring it to fruition, only to realize how little was considered concerning the actual life it would live when he was concocting this illegitimate and, highly immoral plan to build a man.
