Great value! I got this book on sale but even at full price it is a great value. Quick, easy read but very through. I particularly like the sections on how to choose quality children's literature, in-depth explanations of teaching phonics and how to find learning opportunities in everyday activities. It is so true that the best academy is a mother's knee. On a personal note- we've found. Practical breakdown of teaching your young child(ren) to love reading I have started teaching my child to read. While I understand what components are needed I still needed some guidance. I am very pleased to have found this book. I really enjoy that the author has broken down an explanation sounds for us along with all of her advice. blends, phonemes, rimes, etc. I love that the author has experience as a teacher but understands as a parent . Not what I expected Adurna_girl General advice on encouraging kids to be interested in reading and developing those skills once they are reading but I was looking for a step by step guide to teach my kid how to read lots of cool tips but already knew it all and heard it before.I'd give 3 stars because it is cool but it's not worth $10 so 2 stars
