But setting up my own studio presented a real challenge. I bought Mike Senior's "Mixing Secrets" and discovered in the first few pages that my studio set-up was all wrong! I studied his book from cover to cover and I was on my way into the world of recording. I learned so much from Mike's suggestions that when his newest book appeared, "Record. Great book. I really enjoyed Mixing Secrets Great book. I really enjoyed Mixing Secrets, and so had high hopes for this book. I wasn't disappointed. This is a great discussion on how to set up and use microphones. Very in-depth, and very informative. By the end of this book, I had a much deeper understanding of how to set up mics for recording, and how to choose which ones to use.
