But the career advice given only talks about sales and customer service. While I know they can't include every possible field and it's possible to take a wide view of those (almost every career can have some aspect of customer service, for example) it was rather disappointing. Each role contains a s. "Stand-out is good, not a stand-out." according to Product maven. An interesting and probably useful overview of Marcus Buckingham's latest take on leveraging your strengths to continually accelerate your own professional effectiveness. I do find the 9 major categories more useful than the much longer list of "strengths" that came from the prior work. And having an assessment that focuses on what you usually do, rather than how you see yourself, is certainly better. I'm not sure about the results I got - and could easily imagine getting a different result if I filled it out a second time, so I'm not rocked by the face validity.
