not quite up to what I like about Koontz, but enjoyable anyway Karen B In my quest to re-read books by Dean Koontz this was one of the "oldies" that I picked up for my Kindle. One of the nice things about getting older is that I can re-read a book without actually remembering the story when I begin reading the second time.Hideaway is not one of my favorite Koontz books. On a positive note, Koontz places emphasis on family being there for each other and standing up for what is right. However, I did not see the strength in the characters that I usually fin. Not my cup of tea E. OConnor When I started this book and read a few chapters, I quickly told my friends I was not going to continue reading it. A few friends argued I should continue and I'm glad I did. It's still not a book I would recommend but there are elements that I can appreciate. It details the depth of good and the nature of evil in a very potent fashion. Koontz throws in much of the supernatural and allows readers to expand their horizons and delve deep into their own hearts as they consider the powerful themes presented here. Ultimately, the book demonstrates the power of love and innocence, the hand of God to watch over the pure in heart and the inevitable truth that evil cannot overcome LIG
