Pretty Good for Middle Ground I chuckle when I read the other reviewer on this because I bought it wanting learn Italian to have a conversation with a friend only to find it was way too geared for people wanting to take a trip. Go figure.Actually I took a community ed class and this was the book the instructor used.The CDs are good, though the two native language speakers pronounce things slightly differe. Worked for my dad and he's not even good with regular old English Vanessa Got this for my dad as a Christmas present before his trip to Italy, and despite his dyslexia (he's not even great with English!) it really worked! He diligently studied on almost a daily basis for a few months, and when he arrived in Italy he was able to read signage and have a little bit of touristy conversation.. "Extremely helpful" according to Amazon Customer. I am taking an Italian class but got this to go along with it. I love listening to the CDs in my car. The book is very easy to understand as well! Definitely recommend!!
