Now, he tells the unflinching story of his life, laying bare the unvarnished truth about his wild ride that has spanned across the years. Bringing to life the carefree early days of the Allman Brothers Band, Gregg holds nothing back - from run-ins with the law to meeting girls on the road, from jamming at the Fillmore East to experimenting with drugs. Capturing the Allman Brothers' ongoing, triumphant resurgence as well as his own recent fight against hepatitis C, Gregg presents a story as honest as it is fascinating, providing a glimpse inside one of the most beloved and notorious bands in the history of rock music and demonstrating how, through it all, the road goes on forever.. The story begins simply: with Gregg and his older brother, Duane, growing up in the South, raising hell with their guitars, and drifting from one band to another. Murphy said Fascinating. This book is blisteringly honest and that gives the events depicted a more dramatic and emotional impact. Greg Allman certainly has expereinced the highs and lows from those that everyone knows about to those that are completely obscure. Some of the stories are quite humorous such as Greg and Duane's attempts to avoid the draft for Vietnam. These and other stories like them made me laugh qu. This is an honest and raw account of a man's life in music highly recommended Abby This is a very honest and raw account of Gregory's life in the music world as well as family and friends. His honesty is refreshing. He recently passed away, and as he was before my time I didn't realize how talented he was as well as very good looking. Listen to his song " Melissa" on you tube. It's beautiful. He has 4 children in the music business carrying on his voice and legacy. Michae
