"A Future Classic" according to Donovan. This is, hands down, one of the best books I have ever read. And it is a very rare, unique kind of book. Some of the summaries I read after finishing the book, even positive ones, made it sound quaint and trite, along the lines of, "Oh, how cute, an investment banker with a heart of gold." But in reality, this book has astounding depth--depth of introspection and self-awareness, which is then integrated with an entire philosophy of . "Guy will inspire you not only to be a better investor, but also to be a better person." according to Earl Jordan Yaokasin, CFA. I started reading Guy's book during this year's (2015) Super Bowl. It was so exciting; I couldn't put the book down. Guy starts his book with a deep, honest and detailed look into his journey to becoming one of the best investment managers in the world. I could really feel his emotions and put myself in his shoes.The chapter on his lunch with Warren Buffett alone provides incredible value (way beyond the price of the book).Guy share. Brand new investors, attempting to learn how to get started, will gain a sense of the value in long term conservative investing but not much in kicking off a personal portfolio.
