A passionate advocate for reason, Krauss gives the rationale for the seemingly irrational—and the mysteries and apparent contradictions of quantum physics, and explores what that means for our lives here on Earth—and beyond. At its core, The Greatest Story Ever Told—So Far is about the best of what it means to be human—an epic history of our ultimately purposeless universe that addresses the question, “Why are we here?”. From award-winning physicist, public intellectual, and the bestselling author of A Universe from Nothing Lawrence Krauss, comes “a masterful blend of history, modern physics, and cosmic perspective that empowers the reader to not only embrace our understanding of the universe, but also revel in what remains to be discovered” (Neil deGrasse Tyson, American Museum of Natural History). In this grand poetic vision of the u

Through it, he reminds readers why scientists build such complicated machinery and push the boundaries of the quantum world when nothing makes sense: “For no more practical reason than to celebrate and explore the beauty of nature.”" (Publishers Weekly)Praise for A Universe From Nothing "Lively and humorous as well as informative… As compelling as it is intriguing.” (Publishers Weekly)“An excellent guide to cutting-edge physics… Detailed but lucid, thorough but not stodgy… Insightful… Space and time can indeed come from nothing; nothing, as Krauss explains beautifully A great book: readable, informative and topical.” (New Scientist)"Krauss possesses a rare talent for making the hardest ideas in astrophysics accessible to

A beautifully written, poetic book Paul Halpern In The Greatest Story Ever Told-So Far, Lawrence Krauss draws upon religious and philosophical imagery, dating back to biblical times, to present the fascinating story of how modern physics emerged. Krauss cleverly organizes the book's sections to resemble biblical teaching, replete with illustrative quotes from scripture, while emphas. Nice history of physics and it's purveyors Jerry Wilson This was an interesting take on how the state of modern physics came to be. Krauss used analogies in literature to highlight his points. He described in (too much) detail the life stories of many of the great physicists that have led to the Standard Model. But it was a bit rambling at times, and contained too much off-hand autobiograph. "Well told" according to Baby Peach. Excellent written history of physics and how we got to where we are today. Told like you were speaking to a friend who had personal interactions with many Nobel prize-winning scientists. First book I've read by Krauss after seeing his lecture at the Hayden. I will definitely read more of his books!
